Vision Statement
At Attican Farms, we strive to create connection between our culinary past and present, bridging the gap between historical heirlooms of our region, popular global heirlooms and the latest trends in the culinary world. When preparing a recipe, whether it is something you had when traveling, from a famous contemporary chef, or from your grandmother’s recipe box, you can find the ingredients at Attican Farms. From Mexican Mole Sauce, to Thomas Keller’s version of Confit Byaldi, to your Grandma’s Leather Britches, we strive to be your one stop shop for the produce needed to make locally and globally treasured dishes.
We are located in a region with an exceptionally rich food history and culture. Attican Farms strives to preserve and expand that by paying tribute to our history and our land, while pushing the potential of our future. People in our tiny corner of Appalachia deserve the continuation and evolution of our rich food culture.

THE Team
KARA- Owner and OperatorKara is the owner and operator of Attican Farms. Her passion for growing began with her love of food. Cooking delicious meals that were simple and healthy was often complicated by the lackluster produce she found at the grocery. As she started growing herself she was amazed at not just the quality, but the variety possible in her home garden. This spurred an obsession to try as many unique foods and flowers as possible. As her passion grew, the garden expanded. Every year we experiment with new varieties, both in the field and the kitchen, to find the tastiest and most special foods. At Attican Farms, you can try some the most popular varieties of eggplant from Italy, herbs from France, Appalachian heirloom beans and heirloom cantaloupe grown in Ohio for over 100 years. |
Daniel- The MuscleDan works full time as a Physical Therapist at a local Skilled Nursing Facility. Anytime he is not at work, he is working hard on the farm.
Each night when he gets home after a full day, he asks, "What do you need me to do?" Always a champ, he is happy to weed, harvest, weigh and package. Not to mention any of the extremely heavy lifting. |
Macy- the mighty mouserMacy is the farm's cheerleader, crab grass eater and horsefly catcher- Also, a very good girl. |
